Following my fascination with animals, I obtained a master’s degree in Biology at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow (in my native Poland). Afterwards I moved to the Netherlands to do a PhD (doctorate degree) at the University of Groningen. The topic of my research was the evolution of sex determining mechanisms (in the housefly and in general). I currently work at the same university on a project about the evolution of learning.
In my free time, I usually read (books about animals and nature, but also detective stories, fantasy and other), or I crochet while watching comedies.

Podążając za moim zainteresowaniem zwierzętami, zdobyłam tytuł magistra biologii na Uniwersytecie Jagiellońskim w Krakowie. Następnie wyjechałam do Holandii, by zrobić doktorat na Uniwersytecie w Groningen. Tematem mojej pracy była ewolucja mechanizmów determinacji płci (u much domowych i nie tylko). Obecnie pracuję na tym samym uniwersytecie, badając ewolucję uczenia się zwierząt.
W wolnych chwilach głównie czytam (książki o zwierzętach i przyrodzie, ale także kryminały, fantastykę i inne) albo szydełkuję, oglądając seriale komediowe.
